$0.00Price
These open scenes have been created for free use in Drama classes and acting workshops. They can also be the springboard for devising new longer works.
Open scenes provide opportunities for actors to
- Determine and apply Given Circumstances
- Create characters and situations
- Manipulate and apply the elements of Drama to explore possible meanings and interpretations for characters and scenes
- Explore creative possibilities by changing circumstances, objectives, settings and contexts of the scene
- Develop longer scenes or plays by using open dialogue as stimuli
- Explore and apply acting theories and techniques including Stanislavski’s System, Uta Hagen, Laban’s Effort Actions etc
Two approaches using Stanislavski and Uta Hagen’s Given Circumstances have also been provided. These documents can be given to actors to apply to their scenes to explore the given circumstances of their character and inform their creative decision making.
