The Door

$15.00Price

Albert has chosen to isolate himself from the outside world comforted only by his stuffed toy dog, Rupert. His chosen solitude soon becomes his biggest nightmare as he begins to forget anything outside of his immediate square, including his long suffering wife, Janice. A messenger continuously arrives to knock at the door with a warning that 'today is the day' and 'they are coming.' When Albert is confronted by himself, literally, by the arrival of Albert Too and Rupert Too, he has one last chance to realise the impact of his chosen isolation and loneliness before it is too late. Will Albert finally 'open the door' and let others in? Or will he be consumed by his own devastating loneliness?

An absurd comedy in one act with echoes of Beckett and Stoppard, a lot of spilled tea, and a bit with a dog.
