A 10 minute play about broken hearts, Wii remotes and starting again.

Rohan (Roh) and Marilyn (Mazz) are going through a divorce. After many years as best friends and husband and wife, Roh has come out to Mazz and moved in with his new boyfriend. Life’s going pretty good for Roh, but for Mazz, it’s a time of rebuilding at a time in her life where she expected to be happy, secure and settled.

Having sold the house and with only days to go before settlement, Mazz has thrown the contents of the house, remnants from the past and things that used to matter, onto the lawn ready to be collected by a garbage collector. Roh creeps into the yard in the middle of the night and rummages through the garbage pile looking for something of sentiment – what he is looking for exactly he is not sure.

When Mazz busts him in the yard, the two are forced to confront the value of the things that they once considered precious and the fragility of the life they created together. Can they try to salvage something from the rubble as they embrace their new futures together and alone?
